Last entry to the observation deck is typically scheduled 30–60 minutes before closing time. Check the exact last admission for your chosen date so you don’t arrive too late.
For photography and atmosphere, late afternoon into sunset is often ideal: you see Paris first in daylight, then in golden tones, and finally under evening lights. Early morning visits can be quieter with a soft, calm light over the rooftops.
Booking in advance is strongly recommended for sunset, weekends, and school holidays, when popular time slots can sell out and on‑site queues grow longer.
Some Paris museums occasionally offer free entry days, but these do not usually apply to private observation decks like Tour Montparnasse. Always check what is and isn’t included in any city pass or discount card you may have.
